Job Description

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Delta Utilities is seeking a results-driven Account Manager to support customer growth and retention by identifying new business opportunities and expanding relationships with existing customers. This individual contributor role is responsible for executing outreach strategies, managing customer accounts, and supporting economic development initiatives that drive job creation and capital investment in the communities Delta Utilities serves.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Execute customer outreach strategies to improve satisfaction, promote innovation, and support Delta Utilities' business goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Economic Development Organizations, Real Estate Developers, Engineering firms, local government officials, and other key stakeholders.
  • Respond to RFI/RFPs, coordinate site visits, and provide cost estimates for gas facilities and rates to support business attraction and expansion.
  • Support competitive commercial and residential development projects by promoting Delta’s energy solutions.
  • Assist in maintaining franchise agreements and positive relationships with local government entities.
  • Represent Delta Utilities in the community by participating in local business, industry, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Organize and participate in tours, workshops, meetings, and events to promote Delta’s economic and community development efforts.
  • Support customer communications during storm response and other critical events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on credit and collections, billing, and regulatory matters related to customer service.
  • Partner with Public Affairs to support corporate contributions and community engagement strategies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

  • Preferred : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Engineering, or Public/Community Affairs.

Minimum experience required of the position

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, account management, or customer-facing roles within the utility or energy sector.
  • Experience in economic development or working with public/private partnerships is a plus.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
  • Exceptional communication and problem‑solving skill with the ability to translate operational information into clear, customer‑focused solutions.
  • Strong organizational and account‑management abilities, including managing multiple accounts, prioritizing deadlines, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Strong understanding of utility systems, rates, and regulatory environments.
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to operate a motor vehicle, including the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted.
  • Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
  • Able to exert up to 10 Lbs. of force occasionally, and /or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
