Job Summary

T he Ansible Developer provides technical support, administration, and maintenance for the Energy Management System (EMS) and its supporting application s. This role emphasizes automation, scripting, and system reliability, with a strong focus on Ansible development and infrastructure automation.

Job Description

• Provide primary support, administration, and maintenance for EMS systems across multiple testing and production environments
• Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks and automation scripts to streamline system operations and deployments
  
• Integrate and support EMS applications, including system monitoring and routine maintenance
  
• Perform structured and unstructured testing; log and track defects through resolution
  
• Collaborate with business leads, project managers, and technical teams to deliver timely updates and solutions
  
• Partner with vendors and development teams to reproduce issues and validate fixes
  
• Coordinate installation of patches, releases, and defect fixes across environments
  
• Monitor system performance, availability, and stability; proactively resolve issues
  
• Perform database updates, upgrades, and system migrations
  
• Support EMS acceptance testing with internal stakeholders and market participants
  
• Maintain and enhance real-time data collection systems supporting grid operations
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, and interface issues
  
• Participate in disaster recovery drills and emergency response activities
  
• Conduct impact analysis and planning for system changes and maintenance
  
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation

Job Skills Required

• 5+ years of experience in system administration (Linux and/or Windows environments)
• Strong experience with Ansible automation, scripting, and configuration management
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including: OpenShift (Red Hat), Kubernetes
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle and/or SQL)
• Experience working with SCADA and ICCP protocols
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in real-time or critical systems

Preferred:

• Programming experience in C/C++
• Experience with EMS platforms such as: GE EMS Suite / PowerOn Reliance, Hitachi/ABB, Siemens, OSI
• Experience supporting real-time systems in utilities or energy markets
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code principles

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Pay Rate

• $73 - $81.50 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
