Government/Municipal Government General Assignment Reporter
The Kenosha News, a division of Lee Enterprises, is looking for a full-time newspaper reporter/photographer who writes clearly, can develop relationships with sources and has an ability to take initiative. Responsibilities will emphasize education and general assignment news and feature reporting, taking photos and video for the paper, and posting content online and on social media.  Reporters must be able to handle a variety of assignments from breaking news to features and must be able to juggle multiple assignments and deadlines. Local content and coverage is our bread and butter and our next reporter must be able to hit the ground running to meet the demands of our readers. The position requires some night and weekend hours, but we work with our reporters to make their schedules as flexible as possible. The Kenosha News is a daily newspaper with circulation of 10,000 daily and 11,000 Sunday and Wednesday.  We’ve won several first-place statewide awards in recent years and we have a strong digital culture.  We cover an urban, suburban and rural area with its downtown along Lake Michigan.  Kenosha County is less than 45 minutes from Milwaukee and a little over an hour away from Chicago and is just two hours from Madison, WI.  Applicants with some newspaper experience are preferred, but recent graduates in journalism are welcome to apply.
