Job Title: Order Picker Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Order Picker to join our team. The role involves packaging and labeling products, preparing skids for shipment, and ensuring the accuracy of product selection and labeling before shipping. Orders are primarily selected by hand and moved using electric pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts.

Responsibilities
  • Package and label products accurately.
  • Prepare skids of products for domestic and international shipping.
  • Pull orders and verify their accuracy before shipping.
  • Utilize electric pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts to move products.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet daily production goals with speed and accuracy.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of experience in shipping within a manufacturing or distribution center.
  • Proficiency in handling domestic and international shipments with LTL carriers, UPS, and FedEx.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and basic math skills.
  • Experience with Windows-based shipping systems and Excel.
  • Capability to work independently and meet production goals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Experience operating machinery with minimal supervision.
  • Accountability and dependability in attendance and performance.

Work Environment

You will be working in a loading dock area with a strong smell of ink present. The role requires standing for 95% of the day and the ability to work unplanned overtime. The first shift runs from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional early starts at 6 AM or late finishes at 5:30 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
