Assistant Ranch Manager and Ranch Hand positions available on a family owned and operated ranch and feedlot operation with locations in Saskatchewan and southern Alberta, Canada. The operations are mostly grassland with some row crops that employ both central pivot and flood irrigation. The herd is made up of both purebred and commercial cattle and includes cow/calf, backgrounding, and feedlot finishing operations. Cattle are handled with both horses and ATV quads.
Ranch Hands are required to look after the day to day needs of livestock in large numbers, and assist with calving and treatments. Knowledge of purebreds and A.I. a plus. Some experience with cattle is very much preferred, but the owner is willing to train hard working people who are motivated to learn. The Assistant Manager is required to cover for the owner in his absence and to oversee day to day operations of the purebred cattle operation and other employees. Experience with irrigation systems and farming is a big plus. Benefits include housing with utilities.
