BASIC PURPOSE

*This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations. Evening and weekend hours are required.

**This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances.

The Esports Program Coordinator is a college-wide position responsible for supporting the department of athletics by coordinating all aspects of a comprehensive Esports program, including sponsored games, coaching, special events and operations of facilities. They will supervise assistant coaches for sponsored games and lead recruitment of qualified student-athletes. The person will provide a diverse array of Esports programming that will attract participants from a broad spectrum of current and prospective students. They will manage daily operations of the Esports spaces and be responsible for scheduling and equipment maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinates esports orientation, match scheduling, esports special events (varsity/JV/intramural), academic eligibility, coaching/practice sessions, academic monitoring, promotional/summer events to recruit new students.
  • Recruits and retains qualified student-athletes while also providing strategic oversight of similar efforts by Esport assistant coaches.
  • Coordinates operations of the Esports arenas, including hours of operation, staffing, special events, policies/procedures, and equipment oversight.
  • Enforces department and team expectations regarding general standard of behavior for student-athletes.
  • Ahere to the National Junior College Athletic Association for Esports (NJCAAE) and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) rules and compliance.
  • Represents the college as the spokesperson for the Esports program internally with departments and organizations on campus, as well as externally at key regional and national events.
  • Serves as a liaison with the Director of Athletics to ensure appropriate reporting of results and
  • news related to the Esports program.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the Athletics Department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities may include event management, facility supervision, assigned administrative tasks, committee work, or representing the Athletics Department at conferences/meetings.
  • Provide support for College wide events/athletic contests.
  • Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Education/Training/Work Experience:
  1. Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in related field
  2. Experience working in and knowledge of athletics/esports
  3. At least 2 years of coaching experience and demonstrated ability to recruit student-athletes and develop successful programs required. Collegiate coaching experience preferred.
  4. Knowledge of Discord and Twitch
  5. Excellent administrative, oral and written and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  7. Ability to demonstrate a vision for a collegiate Esports program at MCCC.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Internet, email, database, spreadsheet, word processing and presentation experience.
