Job Description

About Bridgeport National Bindery
For nearly 80 years, Bridgeport National Bindery has crafted books one at a time, guided by the belief that every book deserves individual care and attention. Today, we seamlessly combine advanced digital ordering and on-demand printing with our long-standing standard of quality to deliver better books, faster, through a wide range of flexible products and workflows tailored to the needs of our clients.

We don’t just take orders; we specialize in delivering high-quality, repeatable print production solutions at scale.  As our Project Coordinator, you are the critical link between our clients’ visions and our production floor’s reality. You are a "translator" who turns vague requests into precise shop orders. This is a high-volume, technical position for a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives when the pace is fast and the specs are complex.  You will be working in a small office setting with a dynamic group of friendly people in Agawam.

  Responsibilities

  • Convert client needs into clear production instructions for the bindery and print teams.
  • Workflow Management: Own the lifecycle of 10–50+ active orders simultaneously, from order placement through finishing and delivery.
  • Technical Oversight: Review shop orders for accuracy in paper types, quantities, and finishing processes (i.e. cutting, folding, perfect binding, coil, saddle stitch).
  • Proactive Problem Solving:  Spot "file-to-finish" issues  which may include bad bleeds, unrealistic deadlines, specification mismatches before production.
  • Manage the delays, errors, and pricing changes—with a calm, professional demeanor.

  Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required, Associates Degree preferred
  • 2+ Years Experience in a production or manufacturing-based customer service role, preferably in print / publishing industry.
  • Experience in a bindery and have technological expertise that allows you to learn complex manufacturing processes at high volume and quick turnaround times.
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume workflows under tight deadlines.
  • Detail oriented mindset: You catch the quantity mismatch or the binding inconsistency that others miss. You rely on systems and checklists, not just your memory.
  • Ownership Mentality: You work with customers proactively and own the job from receipt until it’s in the customer's hands.
  • Maintains composure and sound judgment in high-pressure situations, ensuring consistent and effective decision-making.
  • Comfortable navigating ERP/MIS systems and professional communication tools (Email, Video, Excel).
  • Demonstrates strong conflict resolution skills, effectively navigating candid production feedback and addressing client concerns with professionalism.
  • Possess exceptional written / verbal communication skills; this will be utilized via both phone and email.
  • Bonus: Prepress knowledge (PDFs, trim, bleed), experience with Print MIS software, or logistics/shipping coordination, and excellent Excel skills.
  • Be able to work in our Agawam, MA office, with the ability to walk our production floor. After your 90 day introductory period, you may be allowed to work from home 2 - 3 days per month.

Salary Range : This position has a salary range of $50,000 - $52,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on qualifications and level of experience. Bridgeport National Bindery, Inc. offers a comprehensive benefits offering. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits on the first day of the following month of employment. Additionally, we offer a 401(k) retirement plan and company match.

Bridgeport National Bindery, Inc. is committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in our workplace. We embrace the differences that make us unique individuals by welcoming the variety of perspectives our employees bring to the table. We know these perspectives can bring us together to solve problems and drive innovation.

All applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, marital status, age, social class, physical ability, religion, national origin, protected veteran status, political beliefs, and other characteristics protected by federal / state / and local laws.
