Job Description

Location: Boston, MA (Waterfront)
Position: Full‑time, Live‑In
Schedule: 5–6 days per week (flexible based on mutual agreement) or could be weekends only.
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience; includes private room and parking and amenities

About the Role

Nice elderly couple who owns two apartments in a Boston harbor complex would like a caregiver to live in the spare apartment and be available on call and as needed to help them with daily needs throughout the day. There will be plenty of downtime that you can spend in the extra apartment. A warm, reliable, and experienced female live‑in caregiver is needed to support the couple. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and comfortable providing both personal care and household support in a respectful, private, and calm environment. Someone who likes to socialize and talk with people will set you apart for this role. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys building long‑term, trusting relationships and who values a peaceful, scenic living environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Light Personal Care Assistance

  • Support with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
  • Medication reminders and monitoring of daily routines
  • Assistance with exercises or physical therapy routines as needed

Light Household Support

  • Light housekeeping: tidying, laundry, linens, and maintaining clean living spaces
  • Meal planning and preparation with attention to dietary needs
  • Grocery shopping and household errands
  • Coordinating appointments and transportation to and from appointments and social outings

Companionship & Daily Engagement

  • Providing conversation, emotional support, and companionship
  • Accompanying the couple on walks along the waterfront, outings, or appointments
  • Encouraging social, cognitive, and recreational activities
  • Monitoring for changes in health or behavior and communicating concerns promptly
  • Ensuring a safe, comfortable, and supportive home environment

In your down time

  • You will need to be available on an as needed basis with the client
  • This position is ideal for someone with remote work or study commitments, offering the flexibility to balance professional or educational pursuits with caregiving responsibilities.
  • The time demands will be flexible

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or similar role is desired
  • Ability to provide respectful, dignified personal care
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, patient demeanor
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Valid driver’s license and a car are required
  • Must be comfortable living on‑site in a private full apartment next to the client and integrating into the household routine
  • Be physically fit to assist with walking, exercise, and ambulation.

Living Accommodations

  • Private 1-bedroom apartment with waterfront views
  • Opportunity to live in one of Boston’s most scenic neighborhoods
  • Rent-free accommodation in a condo located in the same building as the clients, with free parking.
  • Scheduled time off, and an agreed-upon amount of daily assistance required

Ideal Candidate

You’re someone who genuinely enjoys helping others, brings warmth into the home, and can balance independence with teamwork. You’re dependable, attentive, and able to adapt to the couple’s evolving needs while maintaining a positive, steady presence and a good attitude.
