Physician – Susquehanna Family Practice and the Gender Wellness Center (QFP/GWC) – Oneonta, NY

Bassett Healthcare Network , a progressive, academic health system in central New York and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University is seeking a full-time MD/DO for its Susquehanna Family Practice/Gender Wellness Center (QFP/GWC) . Visa Sponsorship Available.

Description

QFP/GWC has been offering high quality, evidence-based primary care in Oneonta since 1994. In 2007, we began embedding transgender and gender diverse (TGD) healthcare into our primary care practice. From 2016-2019, members of our interdisciplinary team received leadership training from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to create a rural-based center for TGD healthcare that provides gender-affirming medical, mental health, surgical care, legal advocacy, training/education, and conducts community-based research. We have served over 1800 TGD youth and adults in our family practice. 

Job Description & Responsibilities

1. Join an established group of 4 FM Practitioners and 3 Mental Health providers in a rural-based family practice/gender center to provide primary care for cisgender and TGD youth/adults across the lifespan.
2. Provide evidence-based, quality primary care for cisgender and TGD youth and adults, including the provision of gender-affirming hormone therapy and pubertal suppression
3. Half day/week of non-clinical time for self-study
4. Participate in GWC interdisciplinary rounds and team meetings
5. Take part in team activities/grant implementation
6. Engage in efforts to ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in healthcare
7. Practice cultural responsiveness and cultural humility
8. Salary Range: $320,000 – $374,000. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards
9. Residency stipend up to $45,000 available up to 18 months prior to graduation
10. Sign-on bonus up to $200,000

Job Qualifications

1. NYS certification/Licensure as MD/DO
2. BLS Certification Required
3. Strong clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
4. Leadership skills, commitment to LGBTQ+ healthcare, and interdisciplinary teamwork
5. Employs principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in clinical practice
6. DEA Required
